Dear Chairperson of the ANC, It is a great pleasure for us at the Union for the Republic Party (UPR) of Mauritania to send you our sincere greetings and congratulations on holding the 54th National Conference of the party. The UPR seizes this opportunity to express to you its willingness to expand the bilateral relations between the two political bodies as well as those of the two sisterly countries.
Our party would like also to share its great appreciation to the outstanding history of the African National Congress; a history of struggle for freedom, liberation, justice and power for the people. I would like to emphasize here that these values are our values too and that the people of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania share strong cultural bonds with the Republic of South Africa; bonds and ties that the Union for the Republic Party seeks to solidify through strengthening mutual relations and cooperation with the ANC.
The UPR had the pleasure to receive at its headquarters in Nouakchott in August 2015, the Honorable Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, National Executive Committee Member of the party. The fruitful conversation with Honorable Nkoana-Mashabane focused on extending the ties through developmental cooperation and strong bilateral diplomatic collaboration to which both parties expressed full commitment.
Once again, we extend our congratulations to all the members, activists and cadres of the ANC while wishing the 54th National Conference a great success.
Sidi Mohamed Maham
President Union for the Republic Party (UPR)
