Islamic Republic of Mauritania
The Union for the Republic Party
Achievement Congratulations’ Statement
During the last weeks, and due to the crisis of power in the brotherly Republic of the Gambia, there was a menace of war in our region because of the reckless inclination of some towards blindly violence for solving political crises. Political crises that only needed wisdom, dialogue, and hard work to save the region from the dreadful consequences of war and turbulences that could tear societies and cause instability and foreign intervention.
The president of the Republic, his Excellency Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz was able to comprehend all the above which is why he had led a wise and thoughtful intervention that ended up with solving this crisis and saved the region from serious war consequences due to the reckless attitudes and the narrow personal views of some.
Both national and international observers were able to watch with admiration the wisdom and bravery of his Excellency which was seen in a series of efforts he made and in the various initiatives he led to find solutions to crises in the region by supporting democratic institutions and the peaceful transition of power in the African continent. The former, has undoubtedly shown the extent to which Mauritania plays a very significant role in the stability of the region and the preservation of peace in the world. It also shows the degree to which his Excellency Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz is an international, Arab and African leader respected across the world for his wisdom and bravery.
We, in the Union for the Republic party, wholeheartedly congratulate his Excellency, the President of the Republic expressing our pride and gratitude to his great efforts that succeeded in preventing the shedding of blood in a brotherly country and saved the lives of our people and our interests as well as the interests and properties of our brothers and sisters.
We invite the neighboring leaders, elites and decision makers to take a lesson from these events and to follow the trajectory of his Excellency in dealing with political crises and working on stability in the region and strengthening democracy in their countries which will inevitably be a factor for progress, development and security.
